New Delhi: The government considered reducing the gap between two covishield doses, the government’s source told ANI news agency.
“The reduction in gaps between two covidshield doses is being considered and will be discussed further in Ntagi (the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization in India), said the source.
At present, the time gap between two covishield doses is 12 to 16 weeks..
According to the initial permission given by the drug controller General India (DGCI), the second dose of covishield must be given 4-6 weeks after the first dose and the second dose of Covaxin will be given 28 days after the first time..
The interval is then extended to 4-8 weeks for Covishiel.
However, in the month April, the government suggests that the second dose of covishield can be taken in a gap 6 to 8 weeks after the first dose.
