Ponda: At least five people, including the driver, was injured after the Mumbai-Margao bus fell by his side in a sharp turn at Baithakhol, Borim, on Tuesday afternoon.
Shridhar Bale, 43, a passenger from Margao has been treated at Goa Medical College for the treatment of hand and leg fractures.
Bus driver Shaikh, 32, from Mumbai, and three other passengers were sent home after providing the main assistance.
The additional driver of Ramesh Rathod, 26, also from Mumbai, escaped not hurt.
The passengers were trapped on the bus because the door was inaccessible.
Shaikh, who was trapped in the bus cabin, was saved by fire personnel and emergency services and taken to the police station after providing primary care.
He had told the police that he lost control of the vehicle in an attempt to save the upcoming motorcycle riders.
There were no violations registered until Tuesday night, said Police Polda Police Inspector Mohan Gaude.
