JAMSHEDPUR: Special drives were carried out by the Jugsalai municipality and local police to order the Covid-19 protocol which was flouted.
As directed before by Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum Suraj Kumar to keep a close watch in places in urban and rural areas, where people were more vulnerable to ignoring guidelines, the team during the operation captured the protocol.
Administrative officials said on Wednesday that those who were caught in various places in the Jugsala market area were taken to Camp Jail.
They were detained and released only after the Covid-19 test and with a warning that repeated offenders would not be spared.
Gyaneshwar Prasad from Civic Jugsalai’s body said they were found wandering in the market area without a mask picked up and taken to the prison camp.
The fine of RS 3,500 was collected from the shop owner because he did not follow the rules book.
Similar examinations were carried out in several areas under the Sonari police station.
Those who were found not wearing a mask was issued with a warning.
They are directed to wear a mask without failing even if they have received the second dose of Jab.
Three stores in areas found did not follow the protocol, sealed for 24 hours.
Other stores are sealed for 72 hours, officials said.
The owners are directed to only allow customers with the right masks to enter the place.
If the direction is not followed, the shop owner will be punished.
A biriyani restaurant popular in the Sakchi area was also sealed by officials after the owner was found to violate the protocol while serving customers.
The staff at the restaurant do not use masks.
Chefs in the kitchen are not found using hand gloves, which is a necessity in accordance with the guidelines.
Taking tight action, the shop was sealed for three days.
