Ghaziabad: The knife attack on two women in the last two days has triggered a hunt for a mystery, which is believed to be a man in his 20s.
In both cases, the attackers entered women and stabbed them in their sleep.
In the Maharajpur city area, where the sower took place, the police had increased patrols and locals took turns to put up the curfew, afraid that crazy attackers were loose.
While the police have not identified suspects, the use of similar operandi mode shows it can be the work of the same person.
CCTV footage from one of the incidents, police said, showed that the defendant could be between 20 and 25 years old.
The first attack, the police said, was reported on Thursday afternoon when the locals, Shehnaj (27), were stabbed with a kitchen knife on the head, while he slept at his ground floor house.

The attacker crept in, took the kitchen knife from our house and stabbed Shehnaj at the temple, just a few inches from his right eye, before trying to escape .

The woman was taken to a private hospital by pedestrians where she underwent an hour’s surgery to remove the knife.

Police at the Link Road police station have received CCTV camera snippets from the incident from the adjacent building.

In the second incident, Hasmina Khatun (23), who lived a few blocks away from Shehnaj, was stabbed on his face on Friday night.
