New Delhi: The leader of the senior Congress M Veerappa Moony on Monday proved the death of former Union Minister Oscar Fernandes, said the nation had lost a great leader.
Fernandes, Former Minister of Union and Members of Rajya Saba, died in a private hospital in Mangaloru on Monday.
He is 80 years old, said the family source.
Fernandes was hospitalized in July after he suffered a head injury because he fell when practicing yoga at his home.
He has also undergone surgery to remove lumps in his brain.
“We have lost today one of the leading leaders of the Congress Party which serves the party continuously for more than five decades.

He worked together at parties from the district, state and nationally .
