The Navy has spread far and wide with the aim of protecting the interests of the Indian Maritime: Admiral Karambir Navy Head

Hyderabad: The Indian Navy has expanded its remote and broad presence with the aim of protecting the interests of the Indian Maritime, Head of the Admiral Marine Karambir Singh said here on Thursday.
“Our navy has spread far and wide in the purpose of protecting the interests of the Indian Maritime,” said the Naval Chief of Staff told reporters on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the 35th edition of ‘Hyderabad Sailing Week’.
The Navy has regularly operated in the ocean, he said, adding “We have gone to the South China Sea, we have gone to the Pacific and when we talk today we have a ship in England.” Indian naval ships secured and protected Indian crude operators in the Hormuz Strait because most of the country’s oil and gas came from the bay, said Admiral Singh.
He further said Indian naval ships were deployed for anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden and added “We are in the Gulf of Aden who protect our ship as part of the anti-piracy and we have ships in the Malacca Strait.” Previously, Admiral Singh congratulated the award-winning for their appearance at the ‘Hyderabad Sailing Week’ championship and hoped that success continued to spur them to a larger altitude.
He also praised all the participants of the event.
This national ranking program continues to increase, expand the participation and attract the best talents in the country to provide the perfect launch bearing for beginner sailors, he said.
“We want to have a good sailor base from where we can choose good sailors and once after getting them, they will be given training and practice well abroad and in the country so they will win medals at the Asian Olympics and at the next Olympics,” He added.
