The ‘neglected’ agricultural report, making it public, panel members told CJI

New Delhi: One member of the Supreme Court Agung Committee on the issue of agricultural law, Anil Ghanwat, has written to CJI NV Ramana, looking for the release of panel reports in the public domain so that the recommendations can “open the way” to the government to resolve ongoing agricultural agitation.
“I feel that the report has not received attention by the Supreme Court,” said Ghanwat, President Shetkari Sanghatana based on Maharashtra, in his two-page letter to chairman of Justice.
The three member committee, formed by the Supreme Court on January 12 for recommendations on agricultural law, has submitted its report to the APEX court on March 19.
The Supreme Court, who suspended the implementation of three central agriculture laws, has not been taken.
Problems in the last five months.
Agricultural economist and expert Ashok Gulati Agriculture Sector and P K Joshi are other panel members.
“As a member of the Committee, especially representing the farm community, I feel painful that the problem raised by farmers has not been resolved and agitation continues,” Ghanwat said in his letter to the Chairperson to give September 1 when referring to the ongoing farmer protest, especially in Punjab Haryana, Western Up and Rajasthan.
Noting that the committee included opinions and suggestions from all stakeholders, Ghanwat claimed the report discussed all the worries of the farmers.
“The committee believes that the recommendation will open the way to resolve the ongoing farmer agitation,” he urged the Supreme Court to release a report for the implementation of its recommendations for “peaceful resolution of the deadlock on farmer satisfaction at the earliest.”
