The latest Android 12 Beta comes with features that allow you to control the cellphone with the help of facial movements, according to reports by XDA developers.
Version 12.0.0 from Android 12 Accessibility Suite that comes as part of Android 12 Beta 4 has a “camera switch” feature that can be used to make your smartphone front camera recognize and record your facial expressions.
This recorded movement can then be used to trigger various actions on your mobile.
For example, the movement of opening your mouth once (and returning to the resting face) when viewing the front camera can bring up a notification panel.
Or raise your eyebrows can be used to trigger back to the Home screen.
For now, actions that can be triggered with the help of facial movements include scrolling forward / backward, touch & hold, access notifications, navigate to the veranda screen, choose etc.
A list of facial movements including a smile (you will have to smile once and then return to maintain a regular facial expression), look left once and then return to the face rest, look right once and then return to the face rest and in the same way, look to Over once, look down once, etc.
It’s like a secret command, your cellphone is programmed to understand, without you having to type it or use a certain key combination.
From the camera settings to record your face to unlock the cellphone or detect the type of scene in focus and adjust the settings for perfect shooting in available lighting, AI has come to the foreground now.
This feature can be found below the switch access tool for those who have version 12.0.0 from the Android 12 accessibility suite.
The size and duration of the face movement can also be adjusted.
Google claims that it will not store your face data and various facial expressions that you use to trigger smartphone actions.
It also warns users that the use of camera switch tools can cause severe channels to batteries so that users are better prepared for it.
