Bhubaneswar: In a big help to the state health machine, the number of Covid Daily Odisha fell below 1000 for the first time in four months since the second wave crashed into the country.
On Monday, the state reported 886 new infections from 66,063 samples tested, the level of 1.34% is the new low.
On April 8, the state has reported 879 cases.
This new development brings hope that the case will go down, even if slowly.
While 15 of the 30 districts reported a case in one digit, two Western districts Balalangir and Nubada did not see Covid cases in the last 24 hours.
New cases are mostly concentrated in Khurda, Cuttack, Puri, Jajpur, JagatsingHpur, and Balalasore District.
Khurda (253) and Cuttack (81) are most contributors to the case of the state load.
Jayant Panda, the government’s technical advisor in Covid-19, said that despite the decrease in infection in the second wave was very slow compared to the first, with an effective strategy and driver of aggressive vaccination, Odisha had contained it.
“We hope, soon, Odisha will see cases falling below 500.
To reduce the case faster, people must obey the appropriate behavior of Covid,” Panda said.
