Privacy focus search engine Duckduckgo launches email protection to beta, new features in the application that will protect the privacy of user email without switching email services.
Duckduckgo claims that 70% email has a tracker that can detect when a letter has been opened and even detects the location and what devices used to check.
Furthermore, tracking data can be used to target users with advertisements and eventually affect which content views online.
“We are happy to announce the beta release from DuckDuckGo email protection.
Our free email forwarding services remove email trackers and protect the privacy of your personal email address without asking you to change email services or applications,” Record the company on the blog.
“We believe protecting your personal information from leaking to third parties must be simple and smooth, such as DuckDuckgo Privacy Protection Bundles,” the next company said.
How do Duckduckgo email protection work? All you need to do is choose the Duck e-mail address (you@duck.com) and start giving it.
What DuckDuckGo does is removing a hidden tracker from an incoming email sent to this address, then forward it to your regular inbox to read a safer.
This means if you use email services such as Gmail or Yahoo, it doesn’t matter.
“Email sent to your personal duck address will arrive there as usual so you can read your email as usual, in any application or on the web, worry free,” explained the company.
Applications and DuckDuckGo applications provide easy access to your personal duck address when browsing the web and also giving options to produce new personal duck addresses on request.
On the site that you think can make you spam or share your email address, the address of the private duck will protect you, said Duckduckgo.
The address of personal duck is easy to deactivate, if the user is worried about too much spam.
Because it’s common for sites to upload your e-mail address to Google and Facebook for advertising targeting, or for your email to leak in data violations, this additional identity protection rate is now unfortunately, Duckduckgo said.
How to start with this new feature? This feature is still in the beta version and to gain access to beta, someone must join a private waiting list.
