The new exhibition provides fresh insight into Delhi Metro Ops

New Delhi: Delhi Metro Museum now boasts two new exhibitions – an original pantography used by trains to draw strength and operational Metro train models on the network and other parts of the country.
Anuj Dayal, Executive Director (Corporate Communication), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), said that the Metro system now operates in all major cities in the country and to show the growth of its network in this country, the eight different train models, including those used by Delhi Metro, has been displayed in the museum.
Another exhibition is a Pantograph, which is an equipment installed on the roof of the train and is used to draw power from an overhead electrification cable (OHE).
“One of the pantographs as currently not used has been renovated and included to be displayed in the museum.
The Information Board, along with the Pantograph photos used on the Metro train, have also been displayed,” Dayal said.
Dayal said that even though there were obstacles caused by Covid pandemics, the Delhi Metro Museum continued to try to add new exhibitions and displays.
“In addition to the view mentioned above, another exhibition featuring a prestigious Japanese civil society award (JSce) received by the DMRC has also been added,” he said.
“Exercise reintegration and extensive maintenance have been taken to take advantage of this time when visitors to the museum are lower in number,” he said.
“In large exercise, the outer facade of the old panel has been renovated with a new design to make the whole look more interesting,” he said, adding that special agents have been spent to ensure digital maintenance of giant screens and other models of metro trains, stations and head cutter machines Tunnel Drill (TBM).
The Delhi Metro Museum began in 2009 at Metro Station Patel Chowk.
