Pune: After assembly and inspection, Mahametro has started a trial from the new Aluminum Rake arriving in Venaz Depot from Italy in the last week of October.
Two more rakes are expected to arrive in the city in the next few days.
Three-Coach Rakes, which is lightweight and consumes less power, has been specifically designed for Pune Metro.
“After sweeping assembled, it was checked at various parameters by the expert team.
Assembly Rake was followed by technical inspections by the expert team.
Because all the necessary parameters are fulfilled, Rake is introduced on the track for tests and further trials,” said an official.
The trial began last week from Vanaz to the Garware College station and will continue for the next few days according to the requirements.
A similar path will be expanded on the PCMC-Dapodi route in the next few days, Mahametro officials said.
Mahametro has bought a rake from the Metro Nagpur until the arrival of the new Rakes.
“We have ordered 34 metro trains with the Firema Titagarh company.
A total of 102 trainers will be sent.
Some trains from the early Lot are being produced at the Italian-based factory while the remaining trains will be produced in India.
The two train manufacturing has begun in the Italian factory,” said Official.
