New Delhi: Delhi International Airport Limited Installing a World Class Integrated Train System (ICS) for handling luggage in the upcoming new terminal 1, the Delhi International Airport Limited (Dial) airport operator said.
Dial said that this was the first time in India that the train system was introduced in India.
The new baggage handling system will bring uniformity to the bag of handling baggage and help in activating more reliable operations at a higher speed with a better throughput.
This system is an identification of radio frequencies (RFID) enabled which significantly reduces the risk of loss and luggage damage and disruption of the system baggage remains completely within the boundaries of transport trays (carts) throughout the transportation process.
Playback of the luggage system holds add layers of tracking and additional security.
“The baggage handling of high-speed high-speed basket-based baggage, T1 will help improve the efficiency of handling luggage and overall services to airlines and passengers,” said Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO-Dial.
The new Hi-Tech system will operate at speeds of 2.
1 meter per second and sort up to 6,000 pockets per hour.
“This increases the operational capacity of the baggage handling system compared to traditional systems,” Dial said.
