Paris: France tightens the rules of vaccination in a way that can put Novak Djokovic at risk of losing an open Frenchman.
From February 15, anyone who was not vaccinated against Coronavirus needs to show evidence that they positively tested Covid-19 in the previous four months from the current six-month window – to enter sports venues in France.
French law is the center of the government’s plan to deal with viruses and aims to ban individuals who are not vaccinated from stadiums, restaurants, bars and other public places.
Djokovic, who was not vaccinated, he said was tested positively in mid-December.
Under the current rules with a six-month window, he can play in the French Open, which began May 22.
But if the new requirements remain valid until then, they tend to put it aside unless he will be vaccinated or test again in four months since the start of the Grand Slam Grand Clay.
Djokovic is ranked top of the champion defending in Paris.
Earlier this month, he was deported from Australia and was forbidden to play in Australia open because it did not meet the rules of the strict Covid-19 vaccination in the country.
The French open organizers previously said it was too early to comment because viral restrictions could change between now and may depend on the situation.
Djokovic was given an exception to the rules of strict Australian vaccination by two medical panels and tournament organizers to play in Australia opened based on documents that he supply showed that he had recently had Covid-19.
He received a visa to enter the country through the automatic process.
But on arrival, border officials said the exception was invalid and moved to deport him.
In the end, Australian authorities revoke Visa Djokovic, said his presence could arouse anti-vaccine sentiment and who kicked it needed to make Australians remain safe.
He was deported a day before the tournament took place in Melbourne.
