Vadodara: Chosen as the first Mayor of Edison India-America in New Jersey, Samip Joshi, better known as Sam Joshi, has its roots in Shirvrajpur Gujarat.
Father Sam Pradeep Joshi has moved to the US in the early 1990s and Sam was born in the US.
Brother Pradeep Raj Joshi first migrated to the US, followed which, their brother, and then the younger brother of Pradeep, also shifted to America.
Pradeep Manorsinh Rathod’s friend said that politics was rooted in the family.
Rathod, who also holds the power of lawyers for Pradeep says that the last father duo visited Shivrajpur about eight years ago.
“They have a house here and land too,” he said.
Rathod said that grandfather Sam Rasiklal Joshi was a doctor who also ordered the Assembly poll as independent in the 1970s.
Rasiklal wife (grandmother Sam) Sharda Joshi is a Panchayat District member.
“Arvind is also the Sarpanch of Shivrajpur,” he said.
Rathod said that the family who initially came from Ratapur near Godhra.
However, Dr.
Rastrial shifted to Shivrajpur and started his personal practice there.
