The NGO ship saved more than 400 people from the Mediterranean

Marseille: Three NGOs said Sunday that they saved more than 400 people trying to cross the Mediterranean overnight after their ship had problems.
NGOs – Sos Mediterranee, Sea-Watch and Resqship – said that their rescue vessels, Sea Viking, Sea-Watch 3 and Nadir, had picked up migrants after “big wooden boats” began to take water.
“All night until early in the morning, along with @seawapch_intl & @resqship_int, we are involved in critical rescue ~ 400 people,” Sos Mediterranee tweeted.
“Victims now receive care at #oceanviking & # Seawatch3.” It was a fifth rescue operation by Ocean Viking since Saturday and the ship now has “449 total onboard victims”, the NGO said.
According to the United Nations International Organization for Migration, at least 1,146 people died in the first six months of this year when they tried to cross the Mediterranean to reach Europe.
Sos Mediterranee said he saved more than 30,000 people since February 2016.
