Nagpur: After remaining three days due to lack of vaccines, 153 Nagpur Corporation Center will continue the provision of covishield on Monday, but the drive will continue only that day and there will be no vaccination on Tuesday because the district has only received a dose for one day.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) cannot vaccinate in the center of 153 covishield on three consecutive days – Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Civic body is able to inoculate only two covishield centers, which are special centers for central prisons and Motibagh Poly clinics.
However, vaccination continues in 12 Covaxin centers on Sunday.
On Sunday, 2,910 people took JAB in NMC centers.
Vaccination also continues in 28 private centers where 1,470 people are inoculated.
Thus, a total of 4,380 people took JAB in the city on Sundays due to an average of 30,000 per day.
The state government has supplied 22,000 covishield doses for the district on Sunday.
NMC gets 13,000 and the remaining 9,000 doses are given to Zilla Parishad for vaccination in rural areas.
An official from NMC told TII, “the stock of 13,000 doses of covishield is not enough for one day.
There will be no vaccination at the Covishield center on Tuesday if there are no new shares that arrive on Monday.” The source of the Office of the State Department of the State Public Health said Supplying fresh stock covishield on Monday is very gloomy.
The vaccine demand has increased because the government continued inoculation of the 18-44 age group on June 23.
Vaccination cannot be done on 27 of the last 47 days in Covishield NMC centers due to irregular dose supplies.
NMC will continue vaccinating the people in plague immediately after receiving all necessary documents from potential beneficiaries.
