The North London Derby Arsenal at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday has been postponed because their troops have been up by Covid-19 infection, injury, and players at the African Nations Cup, the Premier League said on Saturday.
Arsenal have asked the league on Friday to delay Derby – the 21st match to be called this season.
“With Arsenal have the number of players needed for the match (13 outfield players and one goalkeeper), the council receives the club application (for delays),” the Premier League said in a statement.
Granite Xhaka Arsenal were ruled out from the match on Sunday after taking a red card in a 0-0 draw on Liverpool in the first leg semi-final league trophy, while Cedric Soares, Bukayo Saka and Calum Chambers were all sustainable injuries.
Thomas Partyy, Mohamed Elneny, Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are on an international task in Africa, while Norway Martin Odegaard has been tested positive for Covid-19.
Arsenal is the fifth at 35 points after 20 matches, two points above the rivals placed sixth Tottenham, who has two matches in hand.
