The number of aspiran for VC & PRO-VC posts decreases in Bihar

Patna: It sounds strange, but the madness for the coveted office from the representative of the University Chancellor at Bihar seems to have declined deep in recent years.
The number of applications received in response to advertisements issued by the Chancellor Secretariat some time ago clearly showed that very few academics wanted to become VC or pro-VC today.
Nearly 10 to 15 candidates reportedly apply for the coveted post this time, while hundreds of previous candidates were used to show interest to hold posts like that.
According to information sources, in 2013, the Chancellor’s Secretariat has received more than 3,000 applications from various parts of the country in response to advertising for VCS and PRO-VCS appointments throughout the state.
This is for the first time, when the process of appointment of VCS and pro-VC at state universities, through open advertising, was introduced at Bihar after the direction of the Supreme Court.
In 2016, the Chancellor’s Secretariat received more than 500 applications for VCS and PRO-VCS posts at 11 State University.
And, the number of applicants for two posts at different universities has fallen far below, said the source.
The Chancelloriatial Secretariat has begun the process of interviewing applicants who were selected through the design committees established properly, led by L N Mithila University VC Surendra Pratap Singh and consisted of Bihar University VC Hanuman Prasad Pandey and recorded Litterateur Ram Bachan Roy (government nomination).
So far the interaction of candidates with the search committee for the appointment of VCS Purnia, Munger, Maulana Mazharul Haq Arabic and Persia and Nalanda Open University has been completed.
Interviews for VC Pos Universitas Patliputra and Pro-Vc Open University Nalanda have not been held.
The source said the candidate interaction process for all empty posts advertised by the Chancellor’s Secretariat is likely to be completed at the end of the current month after the removal of VCS and the pro-VC from the names submitted by the search committee panel will be carried out by the governor through consultation with the minister’s chairman , Commenting on the hobby of declining among academics for a coveted post at these universities, the figure of Patna College Nawal Kishore Choudhary observed that VCS and PRO-VC dignity had been eroded by the elimination of their frequent thin land.
Academics that aspiring for Chancellor’s representatives from every university in Bihar are not sure whether they will be appointed purely based on reward without “supporting” power, he said.
Former member of the Public Service Commission Bihar Shiv Jatan Thakur said several candidates for post VC and Pro-VC skeptical about the composition of the search committee with two VCS sitting in the country.
And, this search committee member has led as a VC of three or four universities simultaneously in a violation of the Supreme Court, he added.
