Coimbatore: Tweak in the definition by district administration has doubled the number of detention zones in the past month.

However, the number fell below 100 in mid-July and fell further to 45 in the last week of July.
The level became 77 in the first week of August and jumped to 85 on Sunday.
A senior health official of Thudiangur said only three cases were reported on the block on Sunday.

“District collectors have instructed to declare the area even with one case of Covid as a detention area to curb the spread of further infection.
