Bhubaneswar: Many in the Odia Film industry lovingly considered their relationship with Bappi Lahiri’s singers, who died on Tuesday night at the age of 69.
He had been sung and compiled more than a dozen songs in the Odia film.
People from various layers of society expressed sadness over his death.
He had lent his voice for the title Song of Odiah film ‘Mo Duniya Tu Hai Tu’ starring Anubhav Mohanty and Barsha Priyadarshini in the main role.
The film was released in January 2013.
In addition, he has compiled a song for two Odia films – Akuha Katha (1994) and Micha Maya Sansar (bi-lingual film), released in 1989.Malay Mishra, Director of Music ‘Mo Duniya Tu Hai Tu ‘, said Lahiri is a good man and great musician.
“I have recorded the movie title title in December 2012 in the music studio in Mumbai.
We have spent around six hours recording songs.

Mishra said she had interacted with Lahiri in Bhubaneswar once.
“His death is a personal loss for me.
My condolences to family members,” he added.
Singer Subas Das said he had sang a song compiled by Lahiri for ‘Akuha Katha’ starring Mohanty’s Uttam and Mahasweta Ray in the main role.
“The song, ‘Mo Native of the Ananda’, was recorded in the kalinga studio in Bhubaneswar.
Lure has some work, that’s why he is not present during recording.
I have lent my voice for five characters in the song besides singing songs,” Das Reminisced.Das said He has discussed with Lahiri about songs by telephone.
“He is a very good music director.
This is a loss for the music industry,” he added.
Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal reveals sadness for sudden death veteran singers and music composers.
He expressed his condolences to the family and fans of Lahiri.
“Popularly known as Indian Disco King, he will always be remembered for his unique composition,” the Governor said.
Minister of Education Union Dharmendra Pradhan paid a condolence to family, friends, and fans of Lahiri.
“Bappi Lahiri will be remembered because his unique voice and interesting dance number.
Legend, also known as the king of disco, his music attacks chords with people in generation.
Sad with his death today,” Minister Tweeted.
His death came only a few days after the legendary singer Death Lata Mangeshkar.
