Bhubaneswar: President of the Niranjan State Congress Patnaik tried to underestimate his party colleagues and Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bevelampati who was constantly against him.
Niranjan said he did not care about Tara’s rebellion.
Tara, who is also the Whip Congress in the Assembly, has taken a shot of pots in Niranjan and questioned his leadership.
Tara has accused Niranjan to weaken the party base in Odisha and demanded its direct replacement.
“I’m not serious seriously.
But he must refrain from talking about the internal problem of the party in front of the media.
I don’t want to react to his criticism to me,” Niranjan told Toi.
Niranjan handles the question of whether the party will begin disciplinary action against Tara for alleged rebellion on the party’s state leadership.
Niranjan denied unpleasant developments would have an impact on the preparation of the congress raid by the faction to Panchayat polls, scheduled for early next year.
“We have started preparations for the upcoming Panchayat polls.
We held a meeting with the President and Regional Congress Observer today (Monday).
All Indian Congress Committee responsible for Odisha Chellakumar is scheduled to visit Bhubaneswar on August 31 to oversee settings,” said Niranjan.
Niranjan, which was appointed as the President of the State in April 2018, has felt heat from within the party with the rebels that seeks his replacement after the embarrassing defeat of the party in 2019 General Elections, Patkura poll in July 2019, Budepur Assembly by-poll in October 2019 , Balasore Conscious and Tirtol Assembly by-polls in November 2020.
Congress, which has become the main opposition in the Assembly, loses the status to BJP after the 2019 polls.
Congress dissidents have held several meetings and demands that Barabati-Cuttack Mla Mohammad Moquim will make the president of the new Congress in Odisha.
In May 2019, Niranjan had submitted his resignation from the post of the President after the defeat that destroyed the party in the general election.
But AICC maintains it.
