Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has closed the disciplinary process, which was initiated against Satish Gajabhiye IPS officers in 2015 in connection with the controversy over payment of gifts for anti-naxal operations to several police officers when he had Malkangiri SP in 2008.
The government has dropped allegations against him following the direction of the Court Agung a few days ago.
The 2002 Batch IPS officer is still a SP ranking officer who currently serves as the principal of urban police and institutional traffic reports in Bhubaneswar, even though he will be promoted to the rank of IG now.
It was a prolonged legal battle for Gajabhiye in a different court before he was relieved by the APEX court.
Going with chronology, the government has initiated its process in November 2015 after the allegations by several police officers which he was wrong with Rs 3.55 Lakh, which was supposed to be disbursed to them for a successful anti-naxal operation in Malkangiri in June 2008.
Gajabhiye challenged the trial before the court Central Administration.
But he received a jolt when the cat refused the petition on August 10, 2018.
The officer moved the Orissa High Court, trying to cancel the trial against him.
Many of the relief, the High Court on December 8, 2020 set aside the process of it and ordered the government to retrospectively process all promotions and benefits because of officers within one month.
The state government moved the Supreme Court and filed a special petition, challenging HC’s command.
The Supreme Court, on October 6 this year fired the Government SLP and upholds the previous assessment of the High Court.
“In accordance with the command of the Supreme Court, the government has been happy to close the discipline process against Gajabhiye SK Ishwardas,” read the command of the State Household Department issued on December 14.
Gajabhiye refused to comment.
The state government has detained his promotion.

The second proceeds followed allegations that he and his wife allegedly won government land in Block GOP in Puri District.
Precautionary requests are ordered into that case.
