The Odisha government to establish 14 cyber police stations

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to establish 14 new cyber police stations in different places, including each in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
At present only four cyber police stations, respectively in Cuttack, are mixed, Rourkela and Sambalpur operate in the state.
“We sent a proposal to the government for 25 new cyber police stations.
The government has approved 14 new cyber police stations.
Because Cyberrime has increased and many people have fallen prey to cyber fraud, we need a cyber police station in each district to effectively deal with digital violations, “Senior crime branch officer said.
The crime branch has also planned to form the state level body to oversee the functions and performance of all virtual world police stations in the state.
As planned, an IG ranking officer will head the agent of the proposed cyber investigation.
At least 779 cases of cybercrime have been registered from January 1 to May 31 this year throughout the state.
