Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad forest clerk has been transferred to Hapur “with a direct effect” after a video showed him handed over a gun to Loni Mla’s son and youth who opened fire on the air with the plantation.
Ashok Gupta, the officer, last week said the weapon was a air gun that belonged to Nagesh, Mla’s son, and the young man gave him to him “because it keeps it safe”.
Preliminary questions carried out by the Forestry Department have now found that the gun is actually a gupta-licensed gun.
A senior forest officer said Gupta had submitted a transfer order on Saturday, asked him to join the Hapur office “within 24 hours”.
On Sunday, he had taken his new charges.
“The department’s request will be made immediately against the Gupta,” the officer said.
After the video showed Nagesh shooting in the air and Gupta handed the gun to him viral on Thursday, a FIR in section 336 (the act of endangering life or personal safety of others) from the IPC and the relevant provisions of the man’s actions registered against both of them.
The police have not started any actions.
Immediately after getting a transfer order, Gupta handed his licensed pistol to the police and believed to have admitted that he had passed the same gun as Nagesh during the plantation trip on Thursday.
Police, said source, would recommend the cancellation of his arm license.
Jitendra Kumar Singh, Sho of Loni Police Station, said Gupta came on Saturday to surrender weapons.
“He sent a gun.
As long as it was questioned, he accepted that he had given his gun to Nagesh to shoot in the air,” he added.
Asked about what they planned against forest officers and MLA’s son, Singh said, “First we will record Nattahh’s statement and forest guards present during the shooting.
We will also send a gun to the Forensic Laboratory to find out when the last shot has been sacked from him .
“Gupta said he would face an investigation.
“I have given my statement to the police.
I am ready for any action,” he added.
Loni Mla Nandkishor Gujjar, who last week confirmed that it was a air gun and his son had shot from him to scare monkeys, standing with his claim on Sunday.
“It was an air gun.
The gun was handed over to the police to be investigated.
Let the police carry out a fair investigation,” he added.
