Washington: The vaccinated White House official has been tested positive for Covid-19, a spokesman said on Tuesday, adding that the person had no contact with President Joe Biden or other top-level staff.
“I would like to confirm that yesterday’s white house official was entirely vaccinated positive for Covid-19 off Campus,” said Press Secretary Jen PSAKI Jen PSAKI at the briefing, adding that the official, which has not been identified, has mild symptoms.
He said that in accordance with the “tight” protocol, the official was moved away from the White House which was waiting for more testing, and contacts have been carried out.
PSAKI said there were other breakthrough cases in the White House, but did not confirm how much or when.
“We know that there will be a breakthrough case,” PSAKI told reporters at the White House Briefing.
“But because this incident shows, cases in vaccinated individuals are usually mild.
The White House is prepared for a breakthrough case with regular testing.” He said the Covid case was “another reminder of the efficacy of the Covid-19 vaccine against severe illness or inpatient.” Across from the city, Nancy Pelosi’s home speaker office confirmed that one of his senior spokeses had been tested positively, after meeting with members of the democratic state of Texas who were in the US capital.
