The OKS central panel of the NAG River project, with an increase in property tax to run it

Nagpur: After remaining on the paper for the past 11 years, the NAG River pollution reduction project has been approved by the EFC Financing Financing Committee (EFC) of the Union Ministry of Finance Wednesday.
However, the high-powered committee has requested Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to raise property taxes to pay for operations and maintenance (O & M) projects.
Also, the project costs are likely to be reduced by RS100 Crore or more.
Commissioner of Radhakrishnan B City gave a presentation on the project to EFC and representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Niti Ayog, Jalshakti, the National River Conservation Directorate (NRC), urban affairs, etc.

NMC has made RS132 Crore provisions for project management consultants (PMC) at a cost.
The amount is 10% of the project engineering fee.
EFC said the center will only bear 5% of the cost.
