Hyderabad: Preparation for the final procession of the 10th day of Moharrum (YouOp-e-Ashura) has been resolved by the authorities in the old city.
The procession will be taken on August 20.
To mark mengsyah and Imam Hussain, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, who was martyred in the battle of Karbala in Iraq, the 10th day of the Moharrum’s first Islamic month was observed as Ashura and a large procession was issued which included ‘Matam’ or mourning with flags by a number of Shiite Muslims.
This year Gajah Madhuri brought from Kolhapur, Maharashtra, would bring nature.
Exercises for Aunt-ka-nature procession are carried out according to the schedule ranging from Aunt-ka-Alawa in Dabeerpura, Charminar, Yakutpura, Mir Natural bath through Panjeshah where he stopped at QADM-e-rasool for a while the way to Purani Haveli.
“We have completed all formalities.
Two trained Mahouts will accompany elephants where historic aunts are issued,” said Hasanuddin Ajaz, Mutawalli from Alawa, added that all Covid-19 protocols will be strictly followed.
Police last year denied nodding for the procession because of Covid locking and it was limited to limited quantities with aunt-ka-nature brought in a van.
