New York: The oldest person in the world, Spain Saturnino de la Fuente Garcia, has died at the age of 112 and 341 days, Guinness World Records said on Wednesday.
He has been declared as the oldest man in the world when he was 112 years old and 211 days, the London-based organization said, and is scheduled to celebrate his 113rd birthday next month.
Because of his small stature, 1.5 meter high Spain (4.9 feet), who was born in Ponte Castro, Leon, on February 11, 1909, was avoided compiled in the Spanish civil war in 1936 and instead of running a successful shoe business.
He has seven children, 14 grandchildren and 22 big grandchildren.
According to the Guinness website, the oldest person ever recorded was Calment Jeanne Louise France who died in 1997 at the age of 122 and 164 days, was born in February 1875.
