Tokyo: The opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics is likely to be attended by less than 1,000 VIPs and direct officials, sharp reductions from numbers previously decided from 10,000 in the midst of Covid-19 cases here, local media reported on Thursday.
‘Kyodo’s news’, citing sources, reported that the organizers had tried to cut the number of people who physically attended the ceremony at the National Stadium on July 23.
