Haveri: Due to the process of delay in the state government, four government medical colleges that are widely awaited, including the Haveri Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), may not open this academic year.
The National Medical Council (NMC) has not provided permission for the establishment of Government Medical Universities in Haveri, Chikkaballapur, Yadagir, and Chikkamagalur for the current academic year, despite the fact that the results of the national eligibility test (NEET) will be released.
In short.
The main reason for delays in the NMC administration permit is the lack of infrastructure and delay in recruiting the teaching faculty.
People in the Haveri district expect universities to be opened this year, but they are now disappointed.
According to sources, buildings for all four colleges are being built.
Higher Education Authorities have made temporary arrangements in government buildings.
Hims has established classrooms in government engineering colleges, and three other universities have taken over the building available to run classes for the first batch.
Meanwhile, none of the four universities completed the recruitment process of faculty teaching.
Interestingly, two universities have not employed directors and other clerical staff.
It has significantly reduced university opportunities that received approval from NMC to start this year’s class.
If four of the Open Government Medical Universities this year, the number of medical seats in the state will increase to 600.
“We have notified the NMC authority that we will provide adequate facilities such as classrooms, furniture, and quarter staff.
We hope that NMC will provide Permission to start this year’s college, “said Dr.
Uday Mulagund, a special officer for him.
“We have made temporary arrangements for infrastructure to start the academic year,” said Dr.
Ravishankar, Secretary of Medical Education.
“The recruitment of the teaching faculty is currently underway.
We have published a list of provision of the teaching faculty for Chikkaballapur College.
The recruitment process at Yadagir and Chikkamagalur colleges is ongoing.
We work hard to get universities and run this year,” he added.
