Coimbatory: Ssean G collector on Thursday Papampatti Village Secretary Pachayat R Kalpana after alleged misuse of funds.
The collector said the findings came after an internal investigation into the handling of Panchayat funds, triggered by several complaints.
“We audited the coming funds and funds spent over the past three years and found that the amount of tax tax paid for water approval and building plans did not match the amount sent in a Pancrayat account.
The number at acceptance and number in a different account statement,” he said , Based on the initial findings, the collector puts the secretary under the suspension and ordered a more detailed investigation into the last three years.
“In just a year, we found several lakh rupees not taken into account.
We suspect the actual number missing for three years must be higher,” Samepan said.
Audit to the Secretary of Panchayat and funds carried out by the Panchayat Department of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA).
The agency found evidence of funds that did not match the receipt of payments incurred and submit the same report to the collector, which in turn ordered suspension.
A senior DRDA official, who conducted a detailed investigation, said they planned to complete investigations within a week and submitted detailed reports to collectors.
