The panel arranged to speed up the handover of Indirapuram

Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad Development Authority and City Corporation have updated efforts to resolve differences in the handover of Indirapuram.
GDA Deputy Chairperson of Krishna Karunesh and Commissioner of the City of Mahendra Singh Tanwar recently led a high-level meeting that decided that a committee, consisting of officials from both bodies, would conduct a joint survey of 15 days in the city.
“It has been proposed that the Committee will conduct a 15-day survey of the city to assess the condition of the civil facility.
The committee will also see issues of submission of other regions such as Raj Nagar Extension, Swarnjyantipuram and Indira Nagar,” Sinha SK, Chief Engineer of GMC, told TII .
Handover of Township Indirapuram has become a bone of dispute between GDA and GMC for several years.
While GDA has been maintained that it is ready to submit cities to the city corporation, GMC has argued that there are some delayed infrastructure work in the area and are not responsible for cities until this is not addressed.
Before 2016, the cities were under Ward eatpur.
Following the limitation of the year, the cities were divided into seven wards.
In accordance with the norm, the GMC must release a development fund to each ward but because the Civic Agency has not taken the submission of the city, it has not issued a development fund to one of the wards in cities since 2016.
Local council members have claimed this has affected development work in the ward.
“Since 2003, GMC has collected a total RS 78 Crore in home tax from the population of Indirapuram but has not spent a penny for the development of the city,” said Sanjay Singh, the Ward Council 100, said.
However, Commissioner Municipal Mahendra Singh Tanwar, however, said that per occurrence of Municipal Corporation, 1959, Civic Corporation was in his right to impose home tax for all the traits that fell under the Jurisdiction of GMC, and Indirapuram were within the boundaries of the city.
“Because cities have not been submitted to the company by GDA, it is the last responsibility to provide civil facilities in the city,” he added.
The city commissioner said that GDA must provide the Civic Body RS 365 Crore, which will be used to complete the delayed development work in the city or finish the work before handing it to the city.
GDA, however, claiming it has not received written communication or request from GMC in this issue.
