The panel is formed to identify landslide prone areas

Mumbai: The state government has established a five-member cabinet sub-committee to identify areas throughout Maharashtra which are vulnerable to landslides.
The decision came after heavy rain recently in the Konkan region, resulting in landslides that bury Taliye Village in Raigad Regency.
Circular issued by state revenues and the Ministry of Forestry said the sub-committee will be led by the Minister of Relief and Rehabilitation Vijay Wadettiwar.
Other members include the Minister of Public Works Ashok Chavan, Minister of Rural Development Hasan Mushrif, Water Supply and Minister of Sanitation Jayant Patil, and Minister of Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray.
The Committee will study the dangerous fields and recommend prevention measures that must be taken.
The state has established a minister’s board for climate change.
The five sectors have been identified as a major contributor to the energy of the carbon footprint (50%), industry and transportation (15% respectively), agriculture and urbanization (each of 10%).
The board will hold his first meeting after Diwali.
The technical committee also sought to ensure the cause of Tatiye Longslide, because there were no mining or construction activities carried out around it.
