Madurai: It has been decided to rearrange the committee for holistic studies from India’s origin and evolution of Indian culture since 12,000 BP (before now) and interfaces with other cultures in the world, ‘The Minister of Culture and Tourism G Kishan Reddy said in replying to unmounted questions raised by Madurai MP Su Venkatsan on the first day of the Monson Parliament session on Monday.
The minister said the previous committee founded in 2016 only has two meetings – on January 3, 2017 and May 2, 2017.
“While compiling a committee, all suggestions about diversity in membership will be given considerations,” he added.
Venkatess asked if the Union government planned to dissolve the 16 members who were criticized due to lack of diversity to ensure fair representation with diversity.
Venkatess told reporters on Tuesday that the previous committee did not have representation from South India, Northeast India, minority, Dalit and women.
MP raised the problem in parliament on September 14, 2020.
He added that almost all committee members came from the caste table cream layer and from North India.
On September 23, representation for diversity was given to the President of India by 32 members of parliament from all over India.
Venkatesan said the minister’s replies on Monday victory over efforts were taken by 32 members of parliament.
However, he said that the government’s intention in this matter must be monitored and debated carefully.
Awareness must be created in the efforts of the United States to move history and attack the diversity, he added.
