New Delhi: The Minister of Union Piyush faltered as a leader of a house in Rajya Sabha, said the source on Wednesday.
He will succeed Tharawa Chand Gahlot who has been appointed as Governor of Karnataka.
The Ministry of Parliament Affairs has signaled the Sabha’s Rajya Secretariat that Goyal will be the leader of the house, the source said.
Goyal, twice MP Rajya Sabha, is currently the Deputy Leader of NDA and also the Union minister in the cabinet.
He holds charges of various ministries, including trade and industry, food and consumer affairs, and textiles.
Before becoming Minister in 2014, Goyal was the treasurer of the party.
He was also engaged by BJP in poll management activities and to manage logistics during selection.
