Colombo: Head Coach Mark Boucher hopes the T20 World Cup Bound player in South Africa can take the “bits of information” about the UAE condition during the Indian Premier League which he felt would stand the team at the ICC Marquee event.
The 44-year-old player stressed that the players needed to manage themselves during the league so that they could peak at the right time as a unit for South Africa.
“We have talked to people going to IPL.
They must remain enough discipline and realize that we want to peak at the right time as a unit,” Boucher is quoted with ‘espncricinfo’.
“They will take the bits of information about playing in these conditions that will really make them ready for a big tournament and if they manage themselves well and get a good time in the net and get used to the facility it will stand alright benefit.” The IPL, which was suspended in Midway in May for several Covid-19 cases in the bio bubble, is scheduled to be held in the UAE from September 19 to October 15.
The T20 World Cup is scheduled for October 17 in Oman and UAE.
Boucher’s comments came after the South African T20 3-0 series victory over Sri Lanka.
Proteas previously had a trigger series against West Indies and Ireland.
“This team realizes that we are clearly not the finished product, so there are many things we talked about,” Boucher said.
“We chat well about the lessons we have learned and where we want to go as a team.
We tie the record for the most T20 victory by the South African team.
It is one of the notes we are playing.” We understand that going to the World Cup.
Every match is as important as others and this is a habit.
This is only part of team growth, “added Boucher.
