The police company shines blue on the world child day

Guwahati: marched with UNICEF on the “Go Blue” campaign on World Children’s Day, the Assam Police Headquarters, the Office of Police Commissioner Guwahati and four police stations in Azara, Basishtha, PAN Bazar Jalukbari (new) lights blue on Saturday as a solidarity expression with Preservation of children’s rights worldwide.
On World Children’s Day on November 20, every year the iconic landmarks throughout the world are illuminated in blue under the ‘Go Blue’ campaign begun by UNICEF, which is a UN body related to the rights of children globally.
“The police are the first contact point for children who are victims of crime and children who come against the law.
Therefore, the police have an important role to play in protecting the rights of children who come into contact with the police system.

“Like every year, this year ‘Go Blue’ is a symbol with our commitment to their children and rights.
Police Assam will always try to protect the right of every child,” said Police Commissioner Guwahati Harmeet Singh.
The Police Assam Sishu Mitra program, which was launched in 2019, is one of the largest child-friendly police programs in India.
“A child needs care and sensitivity.
With the support of UNICEF and UTSAH, Guwahati police work to ensure that the rights of children are enforced and protected throughout the process of childbirth,” said Parha Sarathi Mangan, Commissioner with Guwahati.
From the shift in child-friendly attitude to the disposal of a timely and efficient case, the Assam Sishu Mitra police program has been able to make a very meaningful impact in the child’s rights in Assam.
