Chennai: holding that Kanyakumari police who do not need to disturb the basic rights of a priest over Doss Munnani Hindu Member (a suburban clothing), the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) is recommended to the Tamil Nadu government to provide appropriate instruction to public authorities to ensure that freedom of religion is protected without bias.
The Commission also directed the government to compensate for Pastors, John Vargheees, a total of Rs 25,000.
In his petition, John Vargus from Vaniakudi stated that he had become a pastor in the faith of the Ministry of Trust from 1996 and around 68 families attended a prayer meeting at his own home.
He stated that he was not involved in the confrontation of violence or religion and there were no criminal cases against him.
However, Kolachel police entered without permission to his home on August 5, 2017 based on false complaints, taking him to the police station and treating him like a criminal, he said.
The applicant accused the inspector later, Muthuraman, had requested that he stop prayers at his home and threatened that a fake case would be disappeared with him.
In response, police officers submitted that they had received complaints including one of the Hindu Munnani members who accused that the Petitioner was building a church near the temple without obtaining necessary permits from the district administration.
During the question, the applicant provided an effort that he would not build a building without permission from the district administration.
