Nagpur: Police Ganeshpet has formed a suicide prevention committee involving vendors and shop owners around Lake Gandhisagar to prevent people from ending life with historic water.
Lake, around 275 years old and once stretched to Sitabuldi Tekdi, was the main source of drinking water for Nagpur in the past, but had turned to a unfortunate ‘suicide point’.
Last year, 44 people jumped to the lake to end the life, while 22 suicide here this year so far.
