Guwahati: With only nine days to leave before the expiration of the deadline given by the Head of Minister Assam to submit a Chargesheet in All Assam Students (Aasu) Animesh Bhuyan Lynching Case, the police were faced with a challenge because very few witnesses had emerged.
Jorth SP Ankur Jain on Sunday said, “Some people have advanced as witnesses but we need more witnesses and evidence.
People, who are eyewitnesses, not yet advanced.
I ask people to share evidence if anyone has something related With Lynching just to make a powerful chargesheet against the defendant.
The identity of the eyewitness will be kept confidential.
There is nothing to worry about.
“On November 29, a mass of around 50 Bhuyan Lynched in the daylight following the argument over an accident on the road.
This mass was reported to attack Bhuyan and his two friends alleged that the trio vehicle had hit a elderly person who was riding a scooter.
However, the police said that there was no collision with the Bhuyan vehicle and the old man had fallen from his own scooter.
