The police seized 58 camels for ‘cruelty’, the struggle began to feed, maintain wild animals

Nagpur: In the middle of the news of cows, the camel’s vigilante case has come in Amravati.
The police here confiscated 58 camels near Dhamangaon, several 50km from Amravati City, after complaints by 71-year activists from Hyderabad.
The complainant – Jasraj Rupchand – accuses that the camel will be brought to Hyderabad to be slaughtered.
The camel guard said they were brought from Kutch to be used as a load animal.
The FIR said that the herd was running from 1,200 km away in Rajasthan, which numbered atrocities.
Because there is no prohibition of camel slaughter in Maharashtra, only a cruelty case against animals has been registered.
Now, because the police have taken their herds, eating and keeping camels have become a giant task for them.
There is no large enough place to keep animals in Dhamangaon.
Accommodation can only be arranged at the beef shelter in Amravati.
The police have asked for the same herders from who the camel seized to walk them up to Amravati.
Going tight by norms on cruelty towards animals, police and running shepherds just 14 km per day.
50km, the four-day trip is expected to end on Tuesday, police said the case.
The herders now have to file a court petition to get custody of the camel, the officer said.
Jasraj said, “There is no law against the massacre of the camel even in Telangana.
Camels are being taken for cut and subject to difficulties during the trip.
” Camels are being carried by members of the Rabari community.
Sheep of herders came from Gujarat, which Rabaris has lived in Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh for at least five decades.
With sheep as their mainstay, the semi-nomadic Rabaris lives in camps on the outskirts of the village, and the use of camels as a means of transportation in the interior.
They have shifted here because of water scarcity in their home country.
Mashtru Rabari, a senior member, said the camel being brought to their settlement in Nagpur, Wardha and Raipur to be used by community members for transportation.
FIR said they were brought from Rajasthan, the counter Rabari, said they came from Kutch, sharing documents published from there.
“We began our journey from one-and-a-half months ago,” he said.
Walking is the only way to cross 1,000 km for vidarbha or go further for Chhattisgarh.
Jasraj, a complainant, he said had a tip-off and drove from Hyderabad and filed a police complaint in Amravati.
However, actions have left other activists, who work for shepherd, irritated.
Sajal Kulkarni, who worked with herders, said, “The Rabaris has lived in Vidarbha since generation and performs using pure camels for transportation.” “We Rabaris from Gujarat just a rear male camel.
This is because religious beliefs that women should not be used as burden animals.
Because of this, fresh animals must be brought from Kutch regularly to keep the herd, “Mashtru added.
Jasraj’s complaint has caused similar actions two years ago.
The confiscated camel had gone to an NGO at that time, he said.
