New Delhi: Delhi Police on Sunday saved a 42-year-old man from ending his life by jumping from a guess in Kotla Mubarakpur in South Delhi.
The police reacted to tweets that showed the man stood on the opposite fence, and without wasting time, saving him before he could take drastic steps.
The man works for online food delivery portals and plans to end his life after the financial struggle, senior police officers said.
The problem was revealed at around 6pm, when the Congress functionary, Alka Lamba tweeted a video that showed a man standing on a withered tree fence in Andrews Ganj.
Kotla Station Kotla Mubarakpur house clerk rushed to place with his patrol team and beat the staff.
“The team found that one man around 40 years old stood near the iron fence that was preparing to jump.
He also loudly said that he was disappointed in his life and wanted to end it.
The police team tried to calm him down.
Meanwhile, a team was deployed below The flyover with the net to save the man from hitting the ground in case he jumped, “said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Atul Thakur.
“The member of our team on the flyover cleverly involved him in the conversation, inches closer to him and managed to catch him before he could react.
He was then reduced from the flyover.
As long as he questioned, he revealed his identity as a resident of Almorah, Uttarakhand.
He was then handed over to his relatives,” The officer said.
