Coimbatore: Special Sub-Inspector (SSI) Police attached to the Police Station Race Course was arrested on Saturday for attacking and harassing a woman, who was her relative, at Varadharajapuram on the outskirts of the city on Thursday.
Other cases have also been registered to register their burning scooters in Sandhai Uzhavar in Sidakalur on Friday morning.
The police identified arrest as K Party, 57, from Vellalore.
An officer said SSI had their affair with a relatively 30-year-old woman, who had separated from her husband and lived with her son at a rented house in Varadharajapuram.
The woman, the officer said, began to avoid parthiban and shift to another house near Varadharajapuram two weeks ago without his knowledge.
