Thane: The assistant sub-inspector attached to the 1-branch of the Crime Thine branch was arrested for allegedly extorting money from the lottery vendor, police said on Tuesday.
Officials informed that the complainant operated the Lottery business and had approached Naupada police last October complaining that the defendant had demanded money from him because he did not trace gambling.
“The complainant said the defendant demanded Rs 1.50 lakh from him and forcibly took RS 19,000 from his people once,” said a police officer.
