Jaipur: Expressing concern over the increasing number of Covid-19 cases, the police headquarters has made arrangements to examine its spread at the police station.
The Additional Director General (Crime) Ravi Prakash Meherda has asked all police stations not to carry out unnecessary arrests in small crimes.
Also everyone who was arrested had to undergo a RT-PCR test.
Speaking to Toi on Sunday, Mermherda said, “I have asked IGS and SPS in the state to ensure the RT-PCR test of every person captured in various crimes.
If the person who was arrested was found positive Covid, he must be sent to the center of quarantine or home sick as needed.
Also, it is necessary that for small crimes, the police station must avoid unnecessary arrests.
“He added that because more than 1500 cases had been reported in Jaipur and around 4000 were witnessed in the state, it was a high time even the police Follow the SOP needed to ensure a lower distribution of covids at the police station.
Ajay Pal Lamba, the additional police commissioner (crime), said, “After the review meeting we had also decided to ensure the safety of our people at the police station.
Covid Positive Cops will be given leave and will be facilitated in getting hospital support or isolation.” Likewise, prison authorities have also made complicated arrangements.
“We have made separate insulation barracks for prisoners found positively.
