Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Saturday warned strict action on people who deliberately missed the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
In a video message, he said in a meeting with the Police Commissioner of the Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and the civilian surgeon Dr.
S P Singh, discussed how several time people and once again did not pay anything heeded constant vaccination.
He said on the one hand, 102% of the qualified beneficiaries had received the first dose, only 64% of people received the second dose, which meant 36% (around 10 lakh people) had not been completely affixed.
DC urges residents to vaccinate the earliest, others will not only pose a threat to themselves, but also for their families.
He said in 81 Covid deaths in January this year, 80% of victims were unknown or had missed their second dose.
DC said according to government instructions in Covid, only people who were fully vaccinated who could get out of their homes.
The police will begin a strict inspection of unknown people found to roam the market, wedding palace, malls, hotels, fitness centers, restaurants or elsewhere, and everyone found deliberately missed their second dose, tight action will be taken against them.
He said the police would not let all the people leave their homes for the benefit of the community.
Sharma said for government officials, direction was clear that only vaccinated employees would get a salary.
He said he would also speak to the industrialists not to issue salaries to staff who were not vaccinated.
He said the mega vaccination drive was held on January 30 and urged all those who qualified to come out in large quantities and get the second dose of their vaccines.
