Nagpur: The level of positivity test (TPR) in August has so far fallen to 0.12% from 0.34% during the period in accordance with July.
Although more than 28,000 covid tests are less done, only 79 people have tested positive while only two deaths were recorded this month compared to 310 cases and 13 deaths in the first two weeks of July.
Interestingly, four public laboratories also did not report a single Covid case despite processing a large number of samples on most opportunities in the past two weeks.
One of them – Nagpur University Lab – has also been closed while this month.
Promising numbers do not have an indicator that the third wave may not break down, experts warn.
In fact, they said, if this district continued to follow preventive measures other than prefer vaccination, the impact of the third wave that might be less severe than expected.
Some of them also suggest that the administration must place contact near high risk in the institution quarantine to ensure the Covid case is not a burst.
Pulmonologist Dr.
Ravindra Sarnaik, who is a member of the Covid District Task Force, said the understanding of pathogens is very important.
“Now almost no one knows about Covid-19.
It is important that someone must make sure he is not infected.
Someone must ensure that no one else is infected because of him.
There is no upper limit how many days we need to follow precautions,” he said .
Dr.
Sararna added, “Spurt’s risk in the case is until October-end.
No one has to ignore the third wave projection.
We can subdue the third wave by mitigating infection.
Public education, masking and holding hold vaccination now.” Dr.
Vikram Rathi’s Pulmonological Consultant said The third wave is expected even though it is not on the second scale.
“It might be much lighter.
Because one and a half years we have known Covid, most of us know the basic preventive measures.
Whatever symptoms must be reported to the doctor and the patient must be an isolate quickly unless proven not covid,” he said.
Dr.
Rathi added that because of the low number, it is easier to mandate to quarantine Covid patients to curb further deployment.
GMCH Medical Supervisor Dr Avinash Gawande said NSARSCOV-2 was a famous virus.
“Submit preventive mask steps, hand hygiene and distance can be proven dangerous.
It is important to open from an economic standpoint, but safety must remain priority,” he said.
Regarding mitigation measures, Dr.
Gawande said the obligatory testing of contacts and investigations near the previous and the latest were needed in addition to vaccination.
