Mumbai: The Post Department has stopped sending letters and parcels to the US due to flight disruptions caused by new omicron variants of the Covid-19 virus.
The postal department headquartered in New Delhi was sent circular on December 8 to all national postal circles, urging them to publish decisions.
“Given the current interference in air connectivity for the United States, it has been decided to hold reservations / collection of all types of letters that are destined to the US with direct effects and further orders.
The circle will bring this to the notification of all customers too.

Meanwhile clients who send cargo and letters to the US are regularly in wheat.
The Community Magazine circulation department issued an email to customers worldwide, said the consignment of the end of the year diaries had been rejected at the City Post Office, and therefore was postponed without a time limit.
At present, international flights are operated under air bubble agreements that have been signed by India with more than 28 countries, including the US.
In November, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has announced the resumption of regular flight schedules from December 15.
With that airline will be able to add more flights and return to the pre-covid schedule.
But with new concerns over the omicron variant, in early December, India postponed the resumption of international flights scheduled until the end of January 2022.
This step means that sustainable operation is limited to all countries, including the US.
For example, in October around 20,400 international flights were operated to and from the airport in India, while Pre-Covid in October 2019, the number was 38,600.
But the demand for flights to the US is high, and Air India, the only Indian operator that flew to the US, announced additional flights from December 21.
Among them are additional flights between Delhi and San Francisco and Chicago.
