Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma on Thursday was referred to as a delay in a statement made by actor Kangana Ranaut and said the President had to take back the Padma award given to him.
He also asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to destroy his silence and told him whether he supported such a view, the other government had to take legal action in accordance with Ranaut.
Ranaut on Thursday swept the big row after he described the country’s independence in 1947 as “Bheekh” and claimed that India achieved freedom only after 2014 when the government led by power in power.

“The Prime Minister must break his silence and tell the nation if he supports MS Ranaut’s view.
If not, the government must take appropriate legal action against such people,” Sharma, a former Minister of Union said on Twitter.
“Hon’ble @rashtrapatibhvn must immediately take back the Padma award given to MS Ranaut.
The psychiatric evaluation must be carried out before giving such awards so that these people do not respect their nation and heroes,” he said.

Former Head Haryana Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda also criticized Ranaut and called his statement as “heartless”.
